Cotswold

The "Cotswold" district, feature a bold, beautiful style of garden which is unique to that particular region of England.

This house, located in a hardwood forest, posed a challenge, as we were restricted from removing any of hardwood varieties that dotted the indigenous landscape. The amount of trees severely limited our planting palette. To solve this problem, plants which required lower amounts of light were incorporated into the design. Pachysandra beds were planted with thousands of daffodil bulbs, which emerge early in the spring, bringing a bright, dynamic burst of color that beautifully weaves the architectural style of the house with the grounds. Several modern sculptures were requested to be added to the composition, in conjunction of a true "Cotswold" inspired garden, but gave the clients the look that they truly desired.
