Drawing inspiration from the magazine and the existing site conditions, a master plan grounded in the minimalistic French style with a bend toward the more contemporary types of gardens that we see today was created. Due to the inherent topography of a landscape that was essentially on a ‘grassy half pipe,’ the site required numerous retaining walls to be constructed. Hedges of yews concealed these walls and provided an evergreen backdrop. Multiple garden rooms grace the grounds, including a sitting garden, rose pathway, and front entry garden grace this residence.
